Mihoyo Vows to Keep Combating Various Infringement Acts Globally

Today, Mihoyo issued a statement saying that in the future, it will continue to combat various infringement acts in a full-chain manner globally, spare no effort in safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of users, and take strong action against game leaks.
The original announcement states that game leaks not only disrupt the gaming experience of players and the rhythm of game operations but also may have a negative impact on the game’s reputation and bring huge losses to the enterprise. Regarding “game leak” behaviors such as obtaining unpublicized game content through improper means and spreading confidential content, Mihoyo has always adhered to a zero-tolerance attitude and continuously carried out special campaigns with multiple measures to combat them.

As of now, some criminal gangs involved have been subject to criminal coercive measures by the police, and many others have been given administrative penalties. In addition, Mihoyo has seriously held more than 200 leakers who maliciously spread leaked content accountable and obtained public apologies from infringers. The highest compensation awarded to a single infringer reached 550,000 yuan. This includes several “first-of-its-kind” cases nationwide, which have guiding significance for the game industry in combating leak behaviors. For example, the first pre-litigation behavior preservation case involving the unpublicized character design of a game in China, and the first effective judgment case that recognized unpublicized game characters, scenes, etc. as trade secrets in China.

In recent years, Mihoyo has continuously and accurately cracked down on various infringement acts such as leaks, pirated figurines, cheats, and private servers, achieving remarkable results. In the future, Mihoyo will continue to combat various infringement acts in a full-chain manner globally and spare no effort in safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of users. Here, we also appeal to users to actively provide infringement clues to help Mihoyo jointly combat infringement acts.
